Roku Unveils New Streaming Devices And An OS Update

Roku unveiled its five streaming updates along with the new operating system. It has updated its streaming device lineup completely. Earlier we have seen updates in Apple as well as Amazon video streaming boxes and finally, Roku has joined the league.  Roku’s competitors, Apple and Amazon have made updates like 4K, new and improvised security, voice control and much more.


The company has finally rolled out a new operating system, known as OS 8 which brings out various features like over the air and over the top viewing, voice control, and much more exciting features. The new Roku boxes range have improved features are the affordable price. With the improved features, you will get the experience like never before. From the basic version to the 4K capable home entertainment, you will get it all. This is the biggest new for all the Roku fans.




The new device range includes Roku Express, Roku Express+, Roku Ultra, Roku Streaming Stick, Roku Streaming Stick+. The earlier products such as Roku Premiere and Roku Premiere+ are far behind now, after the launch of new devices. Last Year, the price of Roku Ultra dropped from $130 to $100. This year also, it stayed same even after its remote becomes 4K capable from the basic streaming stick.  The Roku Express+ has now analog component connection for those who have old televisions which costs $40 only. 


The Roku streaming sticks have the most interesting makeover which adds support for 802.11ac dual-band MIMO wireless. Without any change in the price, the processor is much faster now. It has got more features like Voice control functionality, volume and power button to control the volume of a TV. It now even has the wireless receiver which has much higher wifi range than the basic streaming stick. The basic streaming stick is now for $50, which now have voice controls.
