The AI Telescope of NASA Makes A Breakthrough In Planet Hunting

The AI Telescope of NASA Makes A Breakthrough In Planet Hunting
The Kepler telescope deployed by NASA has reportedly made a big discovery in planet hunting. However, the news hasn’t been disclosed to anyone and is kept confidential even within the organization. NASA is holding a huge press conference to reveal the latest finding of the AI powered telescope most probably by the coming Thursday.

The Kepler telescope was launched in 2009 and since then, it has helped in making many crucial discoveries. The sole aim to deploy this telescope was to look for the planets that might support life. Many exoplanets have been discovered by this telescope which uses Machine Learning algorithms powered by Google to demonstrate new ways of analysing Kepler data. Although no significant announcements have been made by NASA so far, it must be related to discovery of a new exoplanet. The actual findings will only be revealed in the press conference.

What Are Exoplanets?
An extrasolar planet or simply exoplanet is a planet that has its own solar system and revolves around its own star. These are the Earth-like celestial bodies located millions of light years away. According to scientists, these planets are our best hope of finding alien life far from Earth. The first exoplanet was discovered in 1992 and as of 2017, more than 3700 extrasolar planets have been discovered. Out of these, more than 2000 exoplanets have been detected by the Kepler telescope. Now with the latest discovery, NASA is all set to take the whole world by storm.

Machine Learning Has A Crucial Role To Play
NASA reveals that Google’s Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence has a played a significant role in the latest discovery made by the space agency. The data sent down by the telescope is directly being analysed by the AI systems powered by Google at the NASA headquarters. As revealed by the space agency, it has previously helped in the discovery of many exoplanets and as the Machine Learning is getting smarter

How To Locate Your Lost Airpods Using Find My iPhone

How To Locate Your Lost Airpods Using Find My iPhone
Apple’s Airpods were introduced last year with the launch of iPhone 7 during the Keynote event. Ever since their launch, they have long been a matter of concern. Airpods are small and wireless and without the cord, they don’t have much mass either. So if by any chance, you lose any of these airpods somewhere, it will cost you a fortune. If we have a look at the probable scenarios, there are a number of ways you can lose your Airpods. Thankfully, Apple has finally added support for the Airpods in Find My iPhone app that will help you locate your missing Airpods using the app. The feature works with iOS 10.3 or later. If you have enabled Find My iPhone on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch that you use with your Airpods, it is automatically activated for your Airpods as well.

So if your Airpods are missing, you can use the app to locate them if they are somewhere close by. Even if they are out of range, the app can still help you by showing the last known location of the Airpods.

You can either sign in at iCloud.com or use the Find My iPhone app that will show your Airpods on a map if they are within the bluetooth range. The app basically shows you the location of your Apple devices on which you have signed in with the same Apple ID. In case the devices are not connected, it will show you the last time and date where they were online. You can look for the lost Airpods either on your computer or your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. In this blog, we’ll show you both methods.

apple maps features
Apple Maps is a brilliant app but it is still not used to that much extent as most of the Apple users still prefer Google Maps over it. It’s been over three years since the launch of Apple Maps and it has come a long way ahead. It didn’t initially get a great response from the users owing to the persisting bugs and setbacks in the app. Besides, Google Maps had already gone mainstream by the time it was launched.

But as it turns out, Apple Maps has been completely revamped over the years and is now just as advanced and powerful as the Google Maps. In fact, there are some exceptional features in Apple Maps that you won’t even find in Google Maps. In this blog, we have listed 5 such cool features that can help ameliorate your navigation experience on Apple Maps. Let’s get started!

Pin Dropping
This feature can be helpful for you if you want to navigate to a place you don’t know the address of but you are partly familiar with the location on maps. Just drop a pin anywhere on the Maps to select the location. Just tap and hold anywhere on Maps to drop a pin. Once you have done that, you instantly get directions to it.

It can also be used to mark a specific location on Maps and save it for the future. You can create new contacts or add a location pin to an existing contact to remember their location. For instance, you can drop a pin on Maps while you are at your friend’s house and save the location to their contact information.

Use Siri For Maps
With Apple Maps, you can evoke Siri to find a location for you instead of typing the whole thing. This feature is especially helpful while you are driving and can’t type the location. All you have to do is, say “Hey Siri! Get me the directions to somewhere.” You can also ask her questions like, “Get me the directions to the nearest Gas Station” or “Is there any Motel nearby.”

Flyover View
With this exceptional feature, you can have a bird’s eye view of a city or location. While this is not primarily meant for navigation, it highlights all the local points of interest in a city. That way, it makes it easy to decide where you want to go. The Flyover Tour view is available in 150 cities of the world and the list is rapidly growing. To check if the Flyover view works in your city, search for your city and then tap on its label down below. After that, you’ll see “Flyover Tour” option if it’s available in your city.

See The Apps That Locals Are Using
While you are on the move or roaming in an area, you can also see the apps that are popular in that particular area. These are the apps that locals have been using quite frequently. Some of these apps can be useful to you while you are there. To view these apps, tap on your location indicator. From the popup that appears, tap on “Current Location.”

Control The Volume
Like you already know, Apple Maps dictates the directions to you to help you navigate while you are driving or simple walking. You may not be familiar with this, but you can also control the volume of your Apple Maps application without changing the rest of the sound settings on your iPhone. You can adjust the volume of the app as per your comfort or turn it off completely if you don’t want the dictations.
